NIGHT TO SHINE IS BACK!
WELCOME
Thank you for your interest in Night to Shine 2025! Night to Shine is an unforgettable worldwide celebration event, centered on God's love, honoring and valuing people with special needs. This event is hosted each year on the Friday before Valentine’s Day by churches across the globe, bringing congregations, communities and families living with disability closer together in fellowship.
The Body of Christ is not complete without people with disabilities. People with disabilities are our Kings and Queens because God sees them as royalty and so should we.
Psalm 139:14 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

What is Night to Shine?
What happens at Night to Shine?
Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine is a prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On February 7, 2025, nearly 700 churches from around the world will host Night to Shine for thousands of honored guests! Our goal is to share the love of God with people living with disabilities through this special event that celebrates their worth and value.
Salina First UMC is a first-time host of the event -- but this will be the fourth time hosting the event at Kansas Wesleyan University! We held our last event in February 2020--so it's been five long years! Our guests are going to be thrilled to attend again. Because of the time that has elapsed, we will be re-introducing the event to the current KWU student population. We rely on student volunteers to serve as Buddies, in addition to community volunteers to serve in multiple volunteer roles.
Our honored guests will be greeted by "paparazzi" during a red carpet entrance. After being matched with a Buddy, they will enjoy VIP treatment including hair and makeup touch-ups, shoeshine booth, corsages and boutonnieres and professional photographs. Guests will also enjoy karaoke, a “fun” photo booth and short limo rides throughout the entire evening. Honored guests and registered volunteers will be treated to a catered meal, followed by a dance hosted by DJ Cain. (This group LOVES to dance!! Come prepared if you're a Buddy!) The highlight of the night will come when each Night to Shine guest is crowned as a king or queen of the prom.
Check out Facebook for photos and videos of our past events. The video below is a compilation reel provided by the Tim Tebow Foundation. It's hard to tell who is having the most fun--the guests or the volunteers!
Guest information
The event is open to anyone 14 or older with physical or cognitive special needs. We do not have specific guidelines for the eligibility of guests in relation to the legitimacy or severity of their disabilities. There is no cost to attend. Each guest will be paired with a “Buddy” for the evening as soon as they enter the event. Honored guests are welcome to attend as a couple or in small group, but all guests must register individually.
Please click the link to register as a guest. We've made some changes this year, so please read carefully. Registration will remain open as long as we have spots open. If you are able to complete the registration, you're in! We will also confirm via email. Please text or call the organizers listed above if you need assistance to register or are unable to register online.
Please note that Salina's Hays Academy of Hair Design is again offering select services for both male and female guests the day of the the event. Appointments are required.
We are unable to host a dress event this year, but if any other organization wants to do so we will be happy to help by sharing the information.
